Apptio clients using (Interactive) Benchmark often ask for a comparison of Apptio's approach vs other Benchmark providers, most frequently mentioning Gartner. This document compares Apptio's (Interactive) Benchmark concepts with Gartner's IT Key Metric Benchmark (ITKMD) approach. I have chosen ITKMD as this is the common self-service approach available in most Gartner IT subscriptions and therefore allows for a good comparison with Apptio’s Benchmark solution.
