Adding Additional Attributes to the Modify Work Details dialog
Introduction
In the Scheduler application, you can edit the Schedule Start Date, Schedule End Date and
Duration of a work order or a task by editing the Start Date or End Date value in the table view or by
dragging, stretching or compressing the work order/task bar in the Gantt view.
Table View: You can edit the dates directly here and the width of the bar in the Gantt view will
automatically change to reflect the new dates.
Gantt View: You can click on the leading edge of the Work Order / Task bar and drag it left or right to change the start date and the duration. In order to change the end date and duration you can click on trailing edge and drag it left or right. If you want to change the start date and end date simultaneously without changing the duration, you can click on the bar and drag it left or right.
Other Work Order attributes can be modified using the Modify Work Order dialog. This dialog
can be launched by right clicking on a Work Order in table view. You can also select multiple work orders
and then launch the dialog to modify attributes on multiple work orders at the same time.
Out of the box, this dialog contains attributes such as Supervisor, Priority, Lead Craft etc. Now
in Scheduler 7.5.2 you can add additional attributes, from the Work Order Application, to this dialog and
use them to update the values for one or multiple work orders.
Adding an attribute to the Dialog.
In this section we will walk thru how do add the Failure Class field ( a.k.a Failure Code attribute)
to the Modify Work Details dialog.
Go to Application Designer and in the list page, type Scheduler in the filter section. Hit enter and
select the Scheduler record from the list page. In the Workspace tab click on the Edit Dialogs tool bar
button.
In the Edit Dialogs table window select the modifywo record. After selecting the record the
Modify Work Details dialog you should be able to see the dialog behind the Edit Dialogs table window.
Close the Edit Dialogs table window by selecting the close button.
Click on the Control Palatte tool bar button to launch the Controls dialog.
In the Controls dialog select the Textbox control and drag it to the section below the Priority
field.
Right click on the newly added control and select Properties to launch the Text Properties
dialog.
In the Attribute field launch the lookup and select the Failurecode attribute that belongs to the
Workorder object.
You can add the Failure Class field to the table window by launching the Properties and
selecting the Table Column control and dragging it and placing it next to the Priority column.
Right click on the newly added column and launch Text Column Properties and select
Failurecode (that belongs to the Work Order object) record in the Attribute field using the lookup.
Save the changes. You can also add this field to the Mass Update section. Adding this field to this
section allows you to enter a failure code to multiple work orders simultaneously.
After saving the changes launch the Database Configuration application and select the
SKDWOMODIFYDETAIL record.
Also add one more row and enter the failure code attribute you entered previously and suffix it
with YORN. The data type for this attribute should be YORN.
Save these changes and apply the configuration changes after switching to admin mode. Once
the configuration is complete switch off the admin mode. Now in the Scheduler Application, the Modify
Work Detail dialog you should be able to see the Failure Class field in the table window, details section
and the Mass update section.
