UPDATE: April 18, 2017 - Preview Environments will be available on April 26 (previously April 19). We also added Upgrade Window IV on June 14. The default selection will be for Upgrade Window II (previously Upgrade Window I)

Preview environment setup

• Preview environments will be available from April 26 through June 14 (AU: April 28 - June 16). Note that this environment and all data will be deleted on June 16.
• Preview environments will be created using a copy of the data from your “main” environment. Data will not be refreshed throughout the 7-week preview period.
• Preview environments will be upgraded to the latest release every two weeks during regular maintenance windows. 
• Data from the Cost Centers table will be copied to the new Departments table. Any attributes added to the Cost Centers table will not be copied to the Departments table.
• Cost Transparency Integration settings will be disabled. To enable Cost Transparency Integration in your Preview environment, re-enter the username and password in the Cost Transparency Integration settings page.
• Only Admin users will have access to the Preview environment by default. You can grant users access to the Preview environment from the Admin Console (How?)
• Preview environments will have a welcome banner upon login that is visible to all users:

Accessing your Preview environment

Preview environments can be accessed by:

• Selecting the “preview” environment when logging into IT Planning

• Selecting the “preview” environment from the Application Home Screen (FrontDoor)

• Selecting the “Preview environment” link from the in-app banner. Note that this banner is only visible to Admin users.

Confirm your upgrade window

After the April 26 (AU: April 28) release, Admin users will be able to confirm their preferred time slot to upgrade to the latest release. To confirm your upgrade window, log into your "main" environment. All environments associated with your authentication domain will be upgraded during this time slot. The default selection will be for Upgrade Window II. 

Use the in-app banner to confirm one of the following upgrade windows. Note that this banner is only visible to Admin users.

• May 3 (AU: May 5) – Upgrade Window I
• May 17 (AU: May 19) – Upgrade Window II
• May 31 (AU: June 2) – Upgrade Window III
• June 14 (AU: June 16) - Upgrade Window IV
