Newly developed cloud apps continue to rely on mission critical, core applications and data residing on the mainframe. With thousands of Easytrieve and COBOL programs accessing IDMS, Db2, MQ, VSAM and Sequential files, mainframe customers are likely to experience challenges addressing application resilience and availability. This session will showcase how a customer applied a system-wide restart facility to provide a resilient safety net for mission-critical z/OS batch applications, while allowing online applications to concurrently run with the z/OS batch execution.
