Join us to learn use cases, approaches, and value for IMS application modernization. At NRB, we propose to our customers different patterns to modernize IMS applications and data access. For applications hybrid integration, we standardize mainly on IBM z/OS Connect for synchronous access in & out, as well as MQ/Kafka for asynchronous needs. For application development, we promote Java as important language for IMS applications, in addition to PL/I, Cobol and … ASM. We have developed a framework to simplify Java Development for IMS applications, using Java PL/I interoperability. We benefit from all of IMS features including transactionality, while leveraging the zIIP processor to improve performances and reduce cost.
