2/9/16 - Consolidated Edison’s Use of Maximo and Mobility to Support Evolving Asset Management

Tue February 09, 2016 10:57 AM

Consolidated Edison of New York is a major utility supplying transmission, distribution and generation of power. They needed to understand and track the lifecycle of thousands of assets. Many assets had different inspection criteria based on the conditions on a given day, requiring an adaptable form.

In the past, paper and filing cabinets were the norm for asset history, Today they are capturing the timely and trendable details of an asset’s life using IBM Maximo and DataSplice's Forms platform for Inspections.

With an electronic forms product, inspection criteria adapts in the field, providing field workers the ability to collect condition based reading and report findings that may not be part of the normal cycle. This data allows for better trending and prediction of asset behavior, which in turn reduces unplanned outages and emergency maintenance.

Speakers:
Bob Fyke, Manager - Asset Management Engineering with Consolidated Edison of New York
Scott Kunze, President of DataSplice
