    Hello Team,

We have installed SEAS 2.4.3 on Linux and its running fine. We have also added the URL UI in the allowed site list for Java as well. But we are getting the following error when trying to open the JNLP file which gets downloaded when you click on Launch GUI. Please assist.

    Hi Pranjit,

I think the problem is simple; your host is not reachable/resolvable from the laptop/workstation/desktop you want to open the SEAS UI. Go to command line and try to ping EFG-DEV host. If you get a IP address and pinging is successful then you will also be able to open the SEAS UI.

    Hope this help.

    Hi Bharat -

We are trying to open the SEAS UI from the box. The UI is loading , hence its evident that the box from where we are trying to reach the SEAS where its installed is reachable.

Once the UI is loading, there is an option to launch GUI. Once you click that, it downloads the jnlp file. If you try to open the jnlp file using java, its showing the error I pasted earlier.

In that case it must be some other issue I would say .

    Regards,
    Pranjit

    Bharat -

Interesting thing is that the UI is opening using IP address, then the jnlp file is trying to load using EFG-DEV and getting the error.

Also we did the ping test and IP address is reachable from the box but not with EFG-DEV.

Pinging EFG-DEV does not give any result , but pinging the Ip address does provide the below from the tool server .

    C:\>ping EFG-DEV

Ping request could not find host EFG-DEV. Please check the name and try again.

    C:\>ping 10.76.***.***

Pinging 10.76.***.*** with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 10.76.***.***: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=63

    Reply from 10.76.***.***: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=63

    Reply from 10.76.***.***: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=63

    Reply from 10.76.***.***: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=63

    Ping statistics for 10.76.***.***:

        Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

        Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 0ms

In this case, its a DNS issue. You Host and IP is not resolved by the DNS server used by your laptop/desktop. You can solve it by manually mapping the IP and Host in your windows hosts file. Path: C:Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. Open this file using any text editor and add a line at the end of the file like I showed in below image.

that could be one of the reasons and also check whether the server process is up and running and port is open.

Sorry for delayed reply, but now we are able to open the SEAS UI after doing the DNS entries in the /etc/hosts file. Thanks for the assistance.

    Stay safe and healthy !!

That's a good news Pranjit. For a long term solution, you can ask your Network Team to help with the DNS entries in appropriate DNS Servers.

    Hi,
Have you enabled security in the JettyConfig and disabled non-secure access to the URL?
Can you show the SEAS URL that you are accessing?
What is the Java version on your system from where you are accessing SEAS GUI?

    Thanks,
    Indu
