    Hi all,

we had a strange disk fail on the ISP Server these days, in fact a double failure.

Looks like all is good, though, besides a volume of disk storage pool presenting a

    ANR8555E An error (5, Input/output error) occurred during a read operation from disk <full path>. (SESSION: 225)

I put the volume read-only, move data from it. Move data fails on last file, but I can loose that.

So I tried to delete volume <path> discarddata=yes

but command fails saying that there is still data present.

What do I do next, open a Support Case with IBM?

Anyone got an idea how to delete this volume?

    Thanks, Igor

    Hi Igor

Have you tried auditing the volume, or reading it outside SP?

    Eg

    SP> audit v xxx fix=yes

    Regards Tomas

Check out SPFS if you want to mount IBM Storage Protect as a filesystem

    Hello Tomas,

thanks for your comment. Yes, I have tried that, both at file level as on stgp level, to no avail.

In the end I opened a case with IBM and we identified (with some select statements against the database) the file that remained on that specific volume and was not readable  and then delete object in dsmadmc. After that the disk volume was empty, I deleted and recreated it.

Sorry that I have not updated this post yesterday.

    So, I'm all good now.

Thanks and have a nice day, Igor
