    Hi,

    We just purchased two Flashsystem V5035F SANs and I'm trying to configure a Remote Copy partnership using fiber channel, but the partner system doesn't show up. I have triple-checked the zoning, and it appears fine.

    The only difference from our old SANs (V5030F) running the same setup, is that the 5035 is using NPIV by default. According to their GUI, it is important to do the zoning for hosts/storage using the virtual port ID's rather than the usual port ID. I was wondering if this has something to do with it... Maybe Remote Copy partnerships MUST use physical port ID's or something?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    OK turned out it worked with the physical port ID's rather than the virtual ones.

    Next problem is that I can't add more than 6 relationships in a Consistency Group :( Is that a new limit in version 8.4? We are running way more on our old SAN with version 8.3.1.2 without problems.

    Hi Rasmus,

    No, there is no limit in the number of rcrelationships per consistency group. 6 would be an extremely low number if it was the case anyway.
    Are you certain you can't create more? You might want to check the bitmap size allocation in the IOgroup parameters (lsiogrp) to see if the overall capacity of what you are replicating is not too large, but that seems unlikely. Do you get any message when trying to create more than 6 relationships?

    Thx you pointed me in the right direction. I had to use chiogrp to change the remote-copy-memory from 20MB to 40MB.
