    Hi folks

I'm trying to get lin_tape compiling on rhel9 and have hit a couple of "interesting" issues relating to file_operations (previously deprecated and potentially leaky - now obsolete, replaced with proc_ops) which are preventing it building

I'm hoping that the devs can reach out offlist so we can resolve these issues before Redhat ship the final version as this is going to affect all linux 5.* kernel versions regardless of distribution

@MAYRA PADILLA DUARTE is having trouble posting. This is a relay of her response.

RHEL9 is not supported by lin_tape yet, we are working on it.

    Thanks Kevin and Mayra

I've been working through the source myself to see what does/doesn't break in order to have it working on both RHEL9 and Ubuntu 22.04. It seems to be just this change from file_operation to proc_ops that needs addressing in kernels > 5.6

Additionally: I have a long-standing issue with the lin_tape driver and its response after fsf and bsf (plus a couple of other commands) which upsets some software - "error 0 success" is legal but a lot of software treats any unexpected response as fatal. It would be "very nice" to have an option to turn this off

    Any update on RHEL9 support..

I noticed there was a lin_tape-3.0.61-rhel9.x86_64 download available however, it fails to compile..  complains about mismatched number of parameters in the scsi_ioctl function call
