Hi Brett
Yes - apologies had assumed one server.
You would disable the CE server connecting to Online platform for now (just set the Cloud Extender service to Disabled, and stop it), and monitor mailbox migrations.
When mailboxes on Online platform exceed 50% or when you have VIP's migrated (depending on internal priorities), you would stop and disable the service on the CE server connecting to OnPrem Mail platform for Notifications.
Then you would enable and start up the service for the CE server connecting to Online platform.
Apologies for confusion.
Just a trick for when you are stopping and disabling CE service (called "Cloud Extender" in the SERVICES.MSC console), there is a 2nd service whose job is to ensure CE is online. By stopping and disabling this service you will prevent unwanted server events and warnings. The service name is "EMSutSvc" which will be found in alphabetical order in the SERVICES.MSC console. The approach would be disable / stop or enable/start same as for CE service.
The sequence mentioned is important: Disable CE service first as if you don't it will start up automatically from the other service, and when starting up Enable it or it won't start.

Subject: MaaS360 - Exchange Online - iOS Notifications
Sorry I'm still a little confused.
Right now, we have two Cloud Extenders, one for on premise with iOS Notifications configured, and another for Exchange Online with iOS Notifications configured. So essentially, I've got two separate Cloud Extenders setup with iOS Notifications. Should we only have one for right now until we're ready to switch to Exchange Online? There is nothing to configure in the MaaS360 Portal, correct?
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Brett
You will simply switch the configuration in the Email Notifications module to point to the Online version.
That will stop ponting towards the OnPrem. However remember to go to the Windows Services (SERVICES.MSC) after this and restart the Cloud Extender service, for the change to take effect.

Well that's too bad, but as you said we can work around it by moving iOS devices in a more deliberate way (either early in the project or later).
When we are ready to switch the iOS notifications to the Exchange Online devices do we simply disable notifications on the on premise Cloud Extender?

Hi Brett
Unfortunately you won't be able to do Email Notifications in 'hybrid' mode meaning it can only be switched on for either the OnPremise or Online versions but not both at the same time.
The recommendation would be to switch over from OnPrem to the Online platform via Cloud Extender at the point when more than half the mailboxes have been migrated.

Hey everyone,
We are currently in the middle of a migration to Exchange Online and we have a hybrid setup to migrate mailboxes. We have one test mailbox setup on Exchange Online that we've been using to test MaaS360. We have enrollment on Android and iOS devices working, but we can't get iOS notifications to function. We have two Cloud Extenders up and running, one for on-prem and one for Exchange Online. We've gone through the Notification configuration, and when we run the test in Cloud Extender it says the notification was sent successfully, but nothing shows up on the device.
Any idea what we're missing?
Thanks
Brett
