I am receiving the same error in my test environment - but I have no idea whether it actually works or not despite the error as I did not have the time to setup a Git or Github repository.
Can I ask you to raise a RFE/IDEAS here https://ibmsecurity.ideas.ibm.com/portal_session/new for this so that our Product Management and Development can take a look at it ?

I am bumping this up even though it is a couple of years old. I have been searching for this solution as we no longer support cvs as my job and have migrated to git. I am hoping someone has found this solution in the past 2 years!

Subject: Github for SDI
Hi,
I want to use Github with my SDI projects. I tried to install Egit plugin to my SDI Eclipse but each time (tried many different versions from Where_can_I_find_older_releases_of_EGit) It's endded up with an incompatibility error. Like:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: EGit Plug-in Import Support 2.3.1.201302201838-r (org.eclipse.egit.import.feature.group 2.3.1.201302201838-r)
Missing requirement: EGit Plug-in Import Support 2.3.1.201302201838-r (org.eclipse.egit.import.feature.group 2.3.1.201302201838-r) requires 'org.eclipse.team.core 3.6.100' but it could not be found
Is there anybody installed EGit plugin to SDI version 7.2 FP8 ? Does IBM have a document how to install and how to use SDI with Git?
Thanks
