This can be achieved provided MaaS360 'knows' the user account, so you need to ensure that the mechanism being used for authentication/sign-in is integrated. For example, if you are using OnPremise Active Directory or LDAP, you need MaaS360 Cloud Extender operative to pass the authentication through. If the user account is on Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), you need to perform Azure integration with MaaS360. In addition, if the files are stored in a specific corporate storage system, the system needs to be known to MaaS360, so if cloud that's direct and OK but if OnPremise then you need MaaS360 Mobile Enterprise Gateway.
Provided this is the case, you need to:
- Add the app to the MaaS360 App Catalog (App Store app)
- When added, go to the App Config button at the bottom and click it. This allows you to configure the authentication in the Excel app so the user gets signed in
- if the signed-in account is to be the same for all devices, you can put the actual user name in the UPN field. If the signed-in account varies by devices, you can use the %upn% variable in the field (directly put in "%upn" without inverted commas)
- Once this is done you can add the access for the folder storage through either Docs / Content Library (if you want to upload it to the MaaS360 docs storage facility), or through Docs / Content Sources (if you are pointing to a corporate file sharing system).
