Basic User and UserLookupHelper Init() causes Nullpointer Exception

  • 1.  Basic User and UserLookupHelper Init() causes Nullpointer Exception

    Hi,

I wonder if anyone has also seen this. Unfortunately I can't say it's in all environments but in all clustered so far I can see here.

We actually just want basic user with infomaps and using the UserLookupHelper. So far I can't see any other option. Also the only way I find in the JavaDoc is using init() which uses the RT config. The config seems fine as it works perfect with webSEAL nativ login page. I can also use the federated AD users to log in with WebSEAL.

From our DEV environment (same IP segment with LDAP and just a single vm) it works fine with the helper. Once we move to the test (Appliance DMZ-LDAP LAN and Cluster) we get the Nullpointer Exception. From searching around I found that the exception is thrown even if some configuration with the LDAP conf doesn't fit the needs, like the federated Directory with AD also causes Nullpointer Exception in DEV. So I guess it must be some config entry missing or being misconfigured. But I compared to DEV and also double checkt all values, everything is fine. As said with WebSEAL it's working like a charm.

Switching basicuser off the exception disappears.

    Any hint welcome,

    Jens
