CompTIA Security+ is a global certification that validates skills needed to perform computer security functions in an organization. After passing the certification exam, a candidate will gain knowledge of cyber-attacks, threats, vulnerabilities, architecture and design, operations and incident response. There is a number of job opportunities for Security+ certified candidates ranging from security engineer, IT project manager and so on.

However, passing the CompTIA Security+ exam is not that easy. The exam consists of 90 questions which are multiple-choice and performance based. The candidate will get 90 minutes to complete the test; the passing score for the exam is 750 on a scale of 100-900. Recommended prerequisite experience for this exam are CompTIA Network+ and two years of experience in IT administration with a security focus.

To pass the exam on the first try, candidates can rely on online practice tests and exam simulators like the one provided by CertBlaster®. The exam simulator consists of focus drills and practice questions similar to the ones you will find in real exams. Through the exam simulator candidates will learn technical concepts and also help them determine weaker areas that will require additional study.
