Adjust Volume in Android Enterprise COSU mode

    Hi,
    we have a customer that has a lot of Android devices set up in COSU/Kiosk mode.
    They are now experiencing that the default (notification) volume on the devices is too high. As long as the devices are restricted to COSU mode, they don't have any means to adjust the volume (since the "advanced" volume control is blocked).

    I can't find any relevant setting for this specific control in the security policy.

    Has anyone here experienced the same issue and found a good solution or workaround?

    Any help or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

    Note! A couple of things that we have considered:
    1. Using a 3rd party volume control app.
    2. Using Custom Command to set the volume to a specific level. Would that be possible?

    Hi Kjetil
    Once you get to advanced hardware configuration which goes beyond the standard Android OS capability, the best thing is to rely directly on the manufacturer. 
    Our approach has changed from the old brand-specific app approach where we got functionality from manufacturers and put it into our app and required upgrades on our app. 
    Now instead you can use OEM Config within Android Enterprise to configure devices with an app coming directly from each manufacturer. 
    This requires you to : 
    - Add the OEM Config app specific to the manufacturer (for example for Samsung it's called Knox Service Plugin)
    - Distribute to DO-enrolled devices
    - Push OEM Config settings which you can find under the Security menu in the portal. If you're not seeing this please contact Support to ask them to switch it on.
