Hi Mitch
Thanks for clarification. There are a few points to make here, noting that the location history will be available only if location tracking is switched on.
- Location tracking can be switched off at global level (Security > Privacy menu)
- It can also be configured at level of device policy so say by device group.
To do it by device policy you go to the Restrictions page (Security > Policies > open policy) and find the controls for location tracking.
- Location history will be available if the location tracking has been enabled, and the device is recording it and pushing it to our platform.
If so, go to Devices > Inventory, open device, click on Summary drop-down and scroll to Location Information.
- If the history is enabled, you can see where the device has been over time (max 6 months).
- If history is not enabled, you can only see the most recent location.
Please let me know what you think and whether you need anything else.

I think the breadcrumbing reference is about location history. I have never been able to find this in MaaS. Clearly there are a lot of potential issues with accurate location history however, does MaaS provide location breadcrumbing anywhere???
Thanks,
Mitch Lauer

Hi Michael
In relation to 'Breadcrumbing' not sure we are using the same definition, my understanding of it was that it refers to displaying navigation menus.
I think you might be referring to Audit History in terms of changes made to portal. Generally speaking the data that is kept is for 6 months but this is specific to the functionality so for example if a device was enrolled more than 6 months ago, this will show in the Device History for the lifetime of the enrollment.
Regarding the frequency of what we call the 'heartbeat' of a device, for Android the standard is 4 hours and for iOS 24 hours, but these are subject to the device being powered up, network connection active, MaaS360 app installed and profile valid and so on. For Android you can vary the data synch interval in the device policy.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Best

How far back can an Admin see Breadcrumb trail and what is the ping rate of the iOS and Android environment with MaaS360?
