  • 1.  Visual Explain Optimizer Not Available

    When using Visual Explain in ACS the Optimizer Messages tab displays "Optimizer messages are not available."

    How can I get the optimizer messages to show up?

    Dear David

    What is IBM i release in the server and what release is your ACS?    Do you access database tables/views or do you invoke SQL service?  Can you post the access plan graph you see?

    Another thing to check is whether you have already enabled debug messages?   

    From the main menu bar of Run SQL Script, select Edit --> Preferences....     Then look for and check the option "Include debug messages in job log" and click OK.

    Thank you! It was the "Include debug messages in job log" option that fixed it for me.

    By the way, the IBM i version is 7.4 and the ACS version is 1.1.9.3.
