  • 1.  POWER 10 VIOS Disk size

    Hi,

On our new power10 with 2 vios, there is four flash disk of 800 go. I see that we can't create a hard raid 1 as I did on power 7,8,9.

To create a mirror i've used vios command mirrorios, i think i've successufuly create soft mirror for my vios, but the command :  lspv -free  don't return the free disk. Is this normal ?

I've use lsdev -dev hdisk* to verify that i have the disk in my vios.

800gb for VIOS  seems to be overkill, is-it possible to use free space in order to create SSP cache ?

    Thank you

I think you need to reread the VIOS manual page on lspv: on the VIOS (not AIX): man lspv
The -free just lists the free disks = not assigned to anything else.

SSP = Shared Storage Pool only works with FC SAN LUNs.

    Cheers, N
