Is there any configuration that could be made too make the LPAR booting process a little bit more faster than by design in Power?

The process before the actual operating system is booting takes a while (accourding to me).

I see GRUB. So it's Linux.
in AIX booting time mostly depends on the number of the physical disk adapters, especially FC.
Physical = dedicates ti LPAR, not in VIOS.
Or, maybe there is a wrong bootlist and system tries to find the boot device.

If this is SLES, my experience says that boot time is heavily dependent on the total number of paths to all LUNs and number of LVs on these LUNs (if LVM is in use).
Searching for root FS LV by UUID seems to be the reason (--set=root --hint='lvmid/XgDL6i-Cqxa-xYnE-1RYd-pfUH-DIOf-FYI4CH/YaHnGR-qR8Y-5q6G-yjIm-0GZq-xUbB-pNCee2').

Take a look at the grub configuration file and check how does grub find the FS to mount.
Unfortunately at the moment I do not have any Ubuntu around here, so I cannot do this myself.
