  • 1.  Getting an error when updating DNF

    Greetings,

    We are getting below error when running DNF update...

     / # dnf update
    Last metadata expiration check: 0:49:22 ago on Thu Jul 27 14:47:04 2023.
    Error:
     Problem 1: cannot install the best update candidate for package clamav-0.102.2-                                                   1.ppc
      - nothing provides libcrypto.a(libcrypto.so.1.1) needed by clamav-0.104.2-3.pp                                                   c
      - nothing provides libssl.a(libssl.so.1.1) needed by clamav-0.104.2-3.ppc
     Problem 2: cannot install the best update candidate for package krb5-libs-1.18.                                                   3-1.ppc
      - nothing provides libcrypto.a(libcrypto.so.1.1) needed by krb5-libs-1.18.5-2.                                                   ppc
      - nothing provides libssl.a(libssl.so.1.1) needed by krb5-libs-1.18.5-2.ppc
     Problem 3: cannot install the best update candidate for package openldap-2.4.58                                                   -1.ppc
      - nothing provides libcrypto.a(libcrypto.so.1.1) needed by openldap-2.4.58-4.p                                                   pc
      - nothing provides libssl.a(libssl.so.1.1) needed by openldap-2.4.58-4.ppc
     Problem 4: package curl-7.83.1-1.ppc requires krb5-libs >= 1.18.4, but none of                                                    the providers can be installed
      - cannot install the best update candidate for package curl-7.52.1-1.ppc
      - nothing provides libcrypto.a(libcrypto.so.1.1) needed by krb5-libs-1.18.5-2.                                                   ppc
      - nothing provides libssl.a(libssl.so.1.1) needed by krb5-libs-1.18.5-2.ppc
     Problem 5: package sudo-1.9.5p2-1.ppc requires liblber.a(liblber-2.4.so.2), but                                                    none of the providers can be installed
      - package sudo-1.9.5p2-1.ppc requires libldap.a(libldap-2.4.so.2), but none of                                                    the providers can be installed

    (try to add '--allowerasing' to command line to replace conflicting packages or                                                    '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only bes                                                   t candidate packages)

    We are suggested to install opessl 1.1.1 and or above

    On our current AIX7.3 system below LPP version installed. would it cause any issues If we Install  openssl 1.1.1 or 3.0.8 on top of below installed version?

    Good morning,

    Is there any workaround for updating DNF on Belowe installed openssl or we have to install openssl version 1.1.1 to upgrade DNF? Appreciate your response.

    On our current AIX7.3 system below LPP version installed.
