  • 1.  Connect to db2 on pub400 from db2 on LUW question

    Hi,
    I receive an error when use db2 on linux connect to db2 on pub400.com.

    the tcpip node is:
    db2 catalog tcpip node pub400 remote PUB400.COM server 446
    the catalog of db is:
    db2 catalog db pub400 at node pub400
    I have tried the following versions：
    V9.7, V11.5.0, V11.5.8

    When I use a statement "db2 connect to <DataBase> user <UserID> using <Password>" to connect to a database on pub400, It return:

          Database Connection Information
    Database server = OS/400 7.5.0
    SQL authorization ID = UserID
    Local database alias = PUB400

    then use statement db2 "select * from db2inst1.table" to query a table, I receive an error:
    SQL0551N The statement failed because the authorization ID does not have the required authorization or privilege to perform the operation. Authorization ID: "". Operation: "". Object: "NULLID.SQLC2P31". SQLSTATE=42501.

    and when I use ODBC to connect the database, and use statement db2 "select * from db2inst1.table", it return another error:
    [IBM][CLI Driver][AS] SQL0551N The statement failed because the authorization ID does not have the required authorization or privilege to perform the operation. Authorization ID: "". Operation: "". Object: "NULLID.SYSSH200". SQLSTATE=42501

    Dear BR L

    IIRC, I remembered that there was somewhere (on 5250 sign-on screen?) a statement of use that users can use PUB400 only by a 5250 session and no more.  There is a forum in PUB400 web site and you should ask your question in there for an answer.

    Have you solved the issue ?
    I have the same problem. What is strange is that I can execute the "select" into another "collection" . I'm using a profile with qsecofr authorities
    I'm catalog the DB using the "WRKRDBDIRE" name.. I'm using OS/400 7.3.0 and also the same with OS/400 7.4.0
