Can anyone tell me how to configure Access Client Solution function keys F13 to F24 to work on a Macbook?

EDIT:  I got it working directly on a Macbook.  My problem was to get it to work inside a VM running Windows.

Shift adds 12 to the FKey

    Shift-F1 is F13

    Shift-F2 is F14

    etc.

I am sorry, I see that I missed out one important information in my original question.  I have edited it in now.

I got the F13 - F24 working when I ran ACS directly on my Mac :-).
But due to the need of having several VPN clients on my computer I ran some of them in VirtualBox or VMware (I don't remember which one, it was 3-4 years ago).  My problem was that when I ran ACS on Windows inside a VM on my Mac, I was not able to get F13 - F24 to work.  So I kept on using a PC instead of my Mac.

Have anyone succeeded in getting the F13 - F24 in ACS working inside a VM on a Mac?

    Dear Helle

Does SHIFT key works fine in combination with alphabet keys?  I assume it does but SHIFT+Fx does not produce the desired result when running ACS in the VM. If this is the case, I see that this problem has nothing to do with ACS itself and the crucial factor is to find out HOW that VM product on your Mac TREATS the shift key when used with a function key. You should consult the manual or help information or Google for information or contact the helpdesk of that VM product to see if it treats the SHIFT+Fx action in a special way (such as not treating it as a SHIFT at all or as a special invocation of a function of that VM itself). Because if this is the case, you should look for additional information on how to enable SHIFT+Fx key for its normal use in that VM. For example, it may suggest that you first press and release ESC key and then press Fx to get the same effect as SHIFT+Fx. Or it may suggest to create a shortcut for each ESC-Fx sequence.

    Hope you get the idea.

Yes, the shift key worked fine with alphabet keys, my problem was with the Fx keys.  I tried searching for a solution at the time, but I didn't find it.  So I hoped that someone else had succeeded in getting it to work as I am considering to change to a Mac next time :-)

If I, as you suggest, have to press and release another key before using the Shift + Fx key in order to use F13 - F24 I will not go for a Mac next time.

I have done it in the past with Parallels as the Windows VM.  If I recall correctly it was just a question of using the Parallels keyboard mapping functionality. It isn't an ACS issue.

I long ago gave up using any Windows functionality and have been fully Mac for several years now so I'm afraid I can't help any more than tell you it worked.

OK then I will take at look at parallels instead of VMWare.

On the VIEW menu, check the KEYPAD option. All your function keys will be there at the bottom of the screen. You can also edit the tool bar. This is where I put the INSERT key function which is a key the Mac keyboard does not have.

Thank you for your reply.  Unfortunately I don't have a Mac at the moment, but I am considering to move over to a Mac.

I have had no issues with VMWare Fusion and the function keys, as long as the proper setting is checked on the Mac.

There are a couple of ways to get the function keys without remapping keys.

From the ACS menu, View=>Keypad will display a number of keys that can be selected, including all of the function keys.

Also, the toolbar can be edited (Edit=>Preferences=>Tool Bar=>Add Button=>Keystroke - Category Host Functions).
