  • 1.  dnf installation failed on AIX7.3

    Apologies if this post is incorrect or in the wrong place, 1st time user

    dnf_aixtoolbox.sh script fails with:

          Please make sure rpm.rte-4.15.1.2004 and higher version is installed.
          error: %prein(rpm-python3-4.15.1-64_2.ppc) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
          error: rpm-python3-4.15.1-64_2.ppc: install failed

          dnf installation failed.

    This is a fresh AIX7.3 install at the latest level as below:

          # oslevel -s
          7300-00-01-2148
          # lslpp -al rpm.rte
          Fileset Level State Description
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
          Path: /usr/lib/objrepos
          rpm.rte 4.15.1.3 COMMITTED RPM Package Manager

          Path: /etc/objrepos
          rpm.rte 4.15.1.3 COMMITTED RPM Package Manager

     rpm.rte-4.15.1.2004 does not seem to be available how can we proceed?

    I think there is something wrong in the system. 
    AIX 7.3 should have rpm.rte version like  4.15.1.2004
    Is it possible somehow rpm.rte overwritten? 
    How did you install AIX 730 ?

    I have performed a new and complete overwrite of this system and that has fixed the issue.

    I believe it was caused by installation on the version of rpm.rte delivered in the 73 sp1 release.
