New UI does not seem to support custom user interface file

  • 1.  New UI does not seem to support custom user interface file

    The messages defined in the custom user interface customization file are shown in the (now deprecated) WebGui. But these messages are not shown in the new UI. Does this work differently for the new UI? 

    DataPower firmware: 10.5.0.6

    Thank you for the reply. The control settings are not what I was looking for. My question was about the customization interface file which allows you to set messages, not about adding/changing controls. This is the functionality I'd like to use in the new UI: User interface customization - IBM Documentation

    In the old WEBUI it allowed you to set messages at the bottom and/or top of the page as shown below.

    John, I think the issue might be that the new UI is currently experiencing problems with HTML tags in the messages. I notice that the text in in italics. I think if you remove the tag that makes it italic that it'll show up. As I stated in another response, text without character styling (aka using the template) works.

    I copied the template from the documentation, and I'm not having any problems with these messages show Uploading... Upload file ing up in the new UI.

    I'm uploading the copied template from this topic. I wonder whether there's some special characters or HTML tagging in your file that are causing problems.

    We know of an issue displaying custom UI files with HTML markup. Should be addressed in future fix pack.

    John,

    Does your custom UI file contain HTML markup? If so, we are aware of an issue displaying such text in 10.5.0.6 and a fix should be coming in a future fix pack.

    Thanks! I've got it working. So for me this thread can be closed.

    Indeed I used an extra xml tag <em> but that did not solve it. 

    The real issue for me was I used location='both'. That worked in old webgui, not in new UI. I just made 2 separate entries, one for the header and one for the footer. That fixed it.

    One additional finding is that the post login message is shown in the old webgui, but not in the new UI. (I just tested it out of curiosity)
