Issues with monitoring IBM MQ with a third party tool after OS update

  • 1.  Issues with monitoring IBM MQ with a third party tool after OS update

    Posted Fri August 25, 2023 10:33 AM

    We use a Third party tool which utilizes the PCFAgent from IBM MQ to monitor the same effectively, using the jar files provided in IBM MQ installation. During a recent OS upgrade, we were facing issues with monitoring the same, using the mentioned third party tool, been getting MQRC_UNSUPPORTED_CIPHER_SUITE error while trying to monitor, when reverting the OS upgrade the issues seems to be resolved. Could this be by any means an issue related to IBM MQ provided jars/is anyone else facing any issues even remotely similar to this?

    List of patches for Windows 2019 server, which were reverted - KB5027536, KB5012170, KB4589208.

    Gopinath,

    What was the OS that was upgraded?

    You could add an SSL stanza in the qm.ini file to allow specific ciphers.  Here is an example:

    SSL:

    AllowedCipherSpecs=TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA256,ECDHE_RSA_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
