  • 1.  Emails to activate the account are not sent when registering through the developer portal

    Hello everyone

I have a problem registering and login into my Developer Portal, the activation emails are not sent, I have been trying with different emails but it's impossible, I never get that email. Therefore I can not "consume" or "subscribe" to my APIs. I have looked on Manage Settings but nothing can help me to solve that.

Maybe it's necessary to clarify that, when I create an account using some email, the account is created, but the activation email never comes, and therefore when I try to create a new account with the same email, the site says that exists an account from that email, so I need to use other to create a new account or activate the account to log in.

    So...

Exists any way to create accounts without the activation email?

I am using the 30 days trial license on AWS to learn how to use the API-Connect so each day counts :(

    So any information helps

    Hi Diego,

I am checking with the team to see what could be the issue. would you be able to provide me with the email you used to create the instance?

    Thank you

    Hiya Diego,

I assume you've checked your spam folders ?

To workaround the problem you can create consumers from API Manager. Go to Manage and then your catalog. Click on the consumers tab, and then there is a drop down top right. If you select New user instead of Invite user then you can explicitly create a new user complete with giving them an initial password. You'll then be able to login to the portal straight away using those credentials.

Hope that unblocks you - I'm sure the team is looking into the email issues.

    Cheers,

    Chris

Portal has a restriction that user on Portal must have unique email address.

So it is expected that if the user is already on the Portal, the next time you invite that user by the same email address, "<John's email>", the activation link will land on the Portal's /login page, instead of /register page.

please try a new unique email address

    Hi Diego,

We've made some changes to the e-mail configuration in the API Connect on AWS offering to improve deliverability of the e-mails.
In our testing the e-mails that we'd previously seen blocked by some e-mail providers are now getting through and the e-mail security checks (DKIM, SPF and DMARC) are all showing as passing.

You should see e-mails coming through now for all sign-ups going forward, however there is still a potential for some to get caught in spam filters.

I've also extended your trial for a few days.

    Many thanks

    Ricky
