  • 1.  Datapower CLI copy command "Permission denied at" error

    Posted Fri June 02, 2023 09:36 AM

I have been trying to copy a file from our Datapower using the CLI copy command but it always returns me the same "Permission denied at" error.

The temporary's file exists (the error indicates "No such file or directory" in that case) and I've made tests using the '/' in many ways (as for absolute and relative paths) and putting the remote host with the IP, name, fully qualified name (ping works) but always the same error.

Copy destination is a Linux server. And copying from Linux to Datapower I receive the same error.

Of course, user and password are correct. And from other Linux servers I can complete a scp command to this Linux (123.176.93.152). So destination is ok.

I've also tried using other Linux servers as copy destinations with the same error. And the copy works fine when origin and destination are local to Datapower

I've not configured anything else. I've tried just in case adding 'known-host' without success. But this option according to documentation is not required.

I've tried troubleshooting the error enabling debug, but logtemp:cli-log file does not provide more information.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thank you

    Hi Anna,

I've used Curl to upload or download files from a Linux server to Datapower.  I can send you some examples if you are interested.

The file you are copying, compared to the name of the file you display, do not match.  The one you display in the DataPower screenshot ends with "-122009.zip".  It seems you are missing that part, which is why you are getting the "No such file or directory" error.

Make sure, though, you have an SSH server running on your Linux box.

Anna, FWIW, if you prefer CURL or the command line for doing this, John is prepared to answer your needs,

However, KumbaSoft's free DPAA tool will do this in a few clicks, and across multiple appliances at once.   No typing at all!

    Hi Joseph:

Finally I was able to download the Datapower files with the curl and XML Management configuration with John recipe.
Another challenge was then getting the original files from the SOA envelope in base64 format, but I was able to solve this problem as well and get the files.

And about the tool, the company does not allow free software installation.

    Thank you!

    Anna,

    >> And about the tool, the company does not allow free software installation.

They do offer a community edition license and the download for free.  Are you saying the company you are working for doesn't allow software installation?

Yes, exactly. And we have external clients and we are not allowed to install free software in clients as well. And Datapower belongs to one of our clients.
I was already able to download the files, so I think I am good (for now at least).
Anyways I will take a look to the tool.

    Thank you!
