    So how did you decide to go for Instana Self-Hosted over Instana SaaS? Here are some reasons to get you started:
    - Technical reasons, we require an integration or feature that is only available on-premises.
    - Compliance, we require all our services to run in a specific region or data center.

    We made the decision to self host because we work on a lot of development and interface with our own AI, this give us more flexibility.

    Reasons we self host

    1. Performance.  We can increase/decrease resources as needed, at any time.
    2. Troubleshooting Instana MTTR - nearly always faster than SAAS.  We have a vested interest in resolving our own issues on our own timeframes.  SAAS vendors have many, many customers.  We are but one of many.
    3. Cost - it is often less expensive since we are providing our own hardware.
    4. Privacy/Security - we only expose those things to the internet we actually need exposed.  Instana is a perfect case, for us, where we don't need direct access from the internet.  All of our collections take place from inside our internal network.  This reduces network access risk for things like DOS.  Also by placing our server/app/etc data in the cloud, we would be at risk of it being exposed.  By not doing so, we eliminate the risk.
    5. Flexibility.  By hosting ourselves, on-prem, we can create integrations that we would otherwise avoid.  Integrations where webhooks or scripts can run from Instana, based on events, to resolve issues.  If Instana is SAAS, and we want to suppor these integrations, then we would have to open our infrastructure to be managed from outside of our network.  Today we endeavor to avoid this.

    We choose for Self-hosting because we needed integration with our own AI
