For one of our customer running CA-GEN generated applications running on CICS TS 5.x ,can you throw light on the below
    • Whether  CA-GEN created  CICS screens can operate with IBM CICS Service Flow Feature  and be part of a service flow orchestration

We suspect they could be used with the FEPI adapter because the interaction with the fields occur as they appear in the 3270 datastream.
But with LINK3270 we are unsure.   With this adapter, the BMS maps need to be imported ( we do not know if CAGEN produces these )
and with LINK3270 bridge, we send altered data as it appears in the map.  None of the above scenarios were tested as we did not have
    access to CAGEN.

Thanks for your response. I assume Block mode representation of the screen data is same  as Data-stream . We will check whether CA-GEN generated screens  are BMS-map based or 3270 Data-streams . Wanted to check on on the below as our aim is to expose the screen as a service
    - Irrespective of the Screen-data (i.e. BMS map based or 3270 data-stream) that is part of the service flow , can a web-service invoke the Service flow
    - Will  products like IBM HATS simplify the integration in place of exploring the Service flow feature

Hi - To answer your first question,  Yes, invoking a service flow is just a case of linking to DFHMADPL (either through EXEC CICS LINK, web service, WMQ etc) irrespective of the technologies that flow uses.

CA Gen produces 3270 data-stream that are BMS like but are not BMS maps.
I am not familiar with IBM CICS Service Flow Feature details or IBM HATS but assuming you want the SFF to trigger the applications and the best would be to talk with CA Gen to discuss what you are looking for.

You can contact me and I will try to get you answers.
