The Autumn (Fall,  for our Transatlantic readers) CICS Technical Exchange is scheduled for 30th September 2021 13:00 British Summer Time.  The event will be 60 minutes again, and we have a tentative agenda prepared.

    • 13:00 Welcome - Nick Garrod - CICS TS Market Enablement
      • Introduction and outline of the event
    • 13:05 CICS news from Hursley - Mark Cocker - CICS TS product manager
      • Round up of CICS news and announcements for CICS TS continuous delivery and open beta.
    • 13:15 Enabling the new CMCI JVM server in a CICS region to deliver new capabilities for developers and system programmers  - Tom Foyle, CICS Developer
      • Recent releases of CICS TS have introduced richer facilities for filtering resources in a CICSplex from within CICS Explorer via grouping and aggregation, as well as endpoints for faster and improved application development using the CICS bundle deployment API and the JCICSX API.  New capability available in the latest CICS TS open beta extends these options as well as others such as support for MFA to developers with their own regions that are not part of a CICSplex.
    • 13:35 CICS policies and the new compound condition - Jenny He, Master Inventor, Software Engineer, CICS Development
      • CICS policies are a convenient and efficient way to control the behavior of CICS based on predefined conditions, and perform useful actions when those conditions are met. This session introduces the new compound condition system rule type that allows you to specify two or more conditions that all need to be met before the action is taken. For example, this can be used to wait for the Db2 adapter, MQ adapter, JVM servers, and bundles to all be enabled before performing an action to set the CICS region WLM health to start receiving workload. And conversely additional policies can be setup to stop receiving workload if any of those resources are disabled.
