  • 1.  Lost partial word search ability in a file on RBD (Ctrl+F)

    Dear Experts,
    When I edit EGL program on  RBD, I usually type Ctrl+F to launch search dialog and search by whole word or partial word. Today, not known reason, When I use Ctrl+F to launch the search dialog on RBD,  it always search by whole word, The "whole word" check box does not exist. I badly need it to be fixed as soon as possible.  My version is: IBM Rational® Business Developer™ Version: 9.5.1

    Hi Eric,

    You can not use special character to Find with "Whole Word" as disable.

    Thank Hsieh for your response.
     If use special chars, the "whole word" option will be seen too but grey out, but in my case, it does not exist no mater what I typed. Please see my second attachment.

    I attached another files  3. Lost Partial word search in RBD.docx, it display the search dialog with problem, and a dialog without problem from another RBD.

    Sorry, I find the issue, when enlarge the dialog, the whole word check box appears.
    It seems a small defect on the IDE. the critic  feature should not be hiddent.

    Hi Eric,
    This behavior is from Eclipse rather than RBD directly. Does the same happen when you select a different search string from the one you show in the attachment? Eclipse may be thinking Whole Word search is not valid for the given search string.

    Hi Dev,
    Thank you for the analysis. It is the first time, and I cannot remember how it happened. maybe I accidentally reduced the size of the dialog.  I think it is a small defect of eclipse. Either make the dialog not be shrunk, or the critical fields such as "Whole Word" should not be hidden. Or if shrunk,  give a icon  to mark it .
