    Greetings,

I'm completely new to the IBM Z community since June of 2020. I teach Computer Science in Wisconsin. My goal is to offer access to the Master the Mainframe project to a group of High School students in September.

I've been attending various IBM sponsored webinars over the summer and am very excited to bring this knowledge base to students. I've also been encouraging students to become part of the IBM Ambassador program.

I teach a series of Advanced Placement Computer Science courses and am interested in sponsoring a Capture the Flag cohort made up of High School students. There will also be a Project Lead The Way course that I'm hosting focusing on Engineering Design and Development.

I'm open to building creative ways to increase diversity in Computer Science. I've come to a Career in teaching Computer Science without a formal background in Information Technology. There are some advantages and disadvantages to this. I 'd like to think that I've benefited from my experiences and have taken a perspective that allows me to look at the glass as half full.

Very excited to have been given the opportunity to network with such an open and innovative group. The openness exemplified through various posts have encouraged me to continue to regularly visit the posts.

I've created a slack channel for students to stay connected to all things IT and will be regularly highlighting various innovations from IBM and others over the next few months. Another way I'm looking to engage with others is through the STEM Ecosystems.

Feel free to forward any and all resources to me at your earliest convenience if you think it will inspire the next generation of code writers. I'm particularly interested in hosting guest speakers on a regular basis to assist students in understanding how a career in IT can assist them in meeting their goals. I'd really like to explore how students can acquire experiences in a youth apprenticeship program in Information Technology.

Looking forward to networking with you all in the future.

    Be Well,

    Leonardo
