  • 1.  JSONS on APSCOBOL

    We have a requirement to  Generate  Outputs returned from a Stored Procedure be structured  in the form of JSON structure using APS COBOL(S-COBOL)
    Does anyone have any experience to share in APS COBOL(S-COBOL) ?
    Application is written using the Skeleton Generated Cobol which read Db2 in ZOS.
    Web application invokes external Stored procedure (DB2) which invokes APS-COBOL

    Hi, I work on IBM COBOL compilers, what is S-COBOL?  What is APS-COBOL?  What is Skeleton Generated COBOL?

    Hi Tom,

    APS COBOL and S-COBOL are from Micro Focus and appear to be one and the same. From what I can glean from a Google search it is supposed to be a simplified form of COBOL.

    If I remember correctly S-COBOL are generated COBOL fragments which the the App Builder brings together to create a COBOL program. The fragments are stored and managed by the builder so the development of the programs outside of the Builder framework is not possible so this is most definitely a question to address in a Micro Focus forum.
