  • 1.  Still trying to get in contact with IBM Sales about getting IBM Z Development and Test Environment - Learners Edition

    IBM still has not responded to my three emails to 'IBM Sales' about getting a copy. All I get back is an automated reply that says someone will be getting in contact with me. So my 4th attempt now has been to book a voice appointment with them for next week. We will see how that goes.

    I am getting closer to getting the Learners Edition, working with Amber Cowan in sales to finish up the paperwork, finally. I am now waiting for my order to be provisioned and get the USB token device.

    As I understand it, the initial Learners Edition version will be v13.2.0, which I take, is the "z/OS V2R4 December Edition of 2020" (RSU2012?).

    Update: I'm still waiting for my order to be completed. It's been several weeks (Feb 24th) since I have had any updates from IBM about the order status.

    Hi Mark,

    I have been waiting for a reply since January this year.  I even had a one-on-one chat with the program manager back then and yet I still have received no reply as of today.  Someone else indicated to me that the Learners Edition was "being redone".

    Can anyone from IBM with knowledge of the situation please comment on what "being redone" means for those of us who already applied and provided all needed documentation?

    Things are going a bit slowly with the rollout. I've paid for my copy, downloaded the files, and am now waiting for the USB key device.

    So sorry you have been waiting on a reply Mark - this is not my area, but hopefully @Luis Carlos Silva can share more with us all on the plan for a replacement for Learners Edition that can be more more easily offered, and offered in more countries. 
    I can say that the demand shown from you guys in wanting it, is helping to get something out there​​​ - so please do keep posting to communities like this !
