  • 1.  ADCDTOLS.XML in error or somewhere else

    Download 13.2 of the EE version and upgraded to 13.4 via fixpacks. Also downloaded the ADCD which was also with the 13.2 version, namely the z/OS 2.5a release however when trying to create an ADCD component, it fails with the error:

    [WARNING ] [ZDT-LOG-WARN] Found an ADCD package sares1_image with version: 3.0 that Tools doesn't support.

    Looking in the ADCDTOOLS.XML we see the following:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

                    <adcd version="3.0">

          <name>z/OS V2.5 Dec 2021</name>

    So we tried changing '3.0' to various other combinations to no avail. What should it be?

    Not sure if this helps, but all I can think is that you cannot (currently) used a release of ADCD that is newer than what shipped with the ZD&T you have installed, and running.

    You can *only* use an ADCD that shipped with ZD&T too (i.e not ADCD from ZPDT)

    That's correct however this is the 'Extended ADCD' which is for ZD&T and is only available via Passport Advantage and is the same download link for the ZD&T installer so rather off-putting that it doesn't work. There is a workaround which I have used but the whole point of ZD&T is to create your components/images via the web interface. PMR opened with IBM anyway.

    Make sure you let support know if you are using Personal Edition,  or Enterprise Edition of ZD&T - I've only used ADCD Extended with Enterprise Edition

    It can only be Enterprise Edition as the PE doesn't come with all the bells and whistles, aka web server.
