    Hi community ! 

    Please, I'd like to explore the similarities, benefits, pros & cons when comparing z/OSMF Software Management task (including PSWI - Portable Software Instance) with the traditional IBM GSD R3S Tool. Basically, what functions can each one provide or not provide. In addition, what functions could be enhanced in the R3S tool by adopting some z/OSMF available features.

    I'm not familiar with this "traditional IBM GSD R3S Tool" that you mention.  Can you describe what it does and who uses it currently?

    The R3S tool has been used by IBM GTS, now Kyndryl, for packaging and delivering pre-customized z/OS software, SMP/E and non-SMP/E, to multiple customers since 1996. I guess Eli calls it "traditional" because it has been used for over 25 years, well before z/OSMF.
