  • 1.  Writing Jupyter notebook to access spreadsheet data?

    We have 11.1.5 installed in DEV along with the Jupyter Notebook server. I've never written Jupyter scripts so I'm wondering if its possible to write a script to access a spreadsheet file or maybe a ODBC connection?  I'm hoping the combined knowledge on this site can give my some directions on this. Would really appreciate a working script or better yet some pointers on how to get started with writing Jupyter scripts.  Probably a big learning curve for me so some really basic starting tips would be most helpful.  Does anyone know of any hands-on labs associated with Jupyter?

    Hi Scott, 

    when you want to use data, it's like dashboard, select from a datasource. Code will be generated then.

    I suggest also to look at notebook sample

    Thanks for this information and pointing to this section in the documentation.  I'd read through this before but forgot all about it after it took so long to get the server running.  I also found a tutorial on the net that gave a little basic instructions on writing Jupyter code.  Wondering if you had a suggestions on where I might go to get a basic start on writing python code for Cognos?  I'm not a programmer so basic skills would be best to start with.  Sure wish IBM had some more documentation to help with this.
