  • 1.  wM 6.5 SP2 on Windows Server 2008? Yes ? No?

    Posted Tue March 13, 2012 02:53 PM

    Hello Forum,

We are still running wM 6.5 SP2 that we received from Oracle togther with our JDE Enterprise One 8.12/Tools 8.97 release before Oracle abandoned wM. We have it running on a couple of Windows Server 2003 Servers and have developed quite a few applications for it over the years. We would like to upgrade our OS and move wM over to Windows Server 2008. Is that possible with such an old release of wM? Does anyone have any experience/comments on the subject?

    Thanks
    Mike

webMethods 6.5 is not certified in Windows 2008 Server. Check with SAG Support for the same.

    Senthil,

thank you for your response. Nonetheless I went ahead and installed it last week on our new Windows 2008 server box and it seems to be running just fine. So far I have successfully tested it with a couple of our custom packages. It’s not running in 64-bit mode but as long as it is running on Windows 2008 server at all that’s good enough for our purpose because it means we can migrate from all of our Windows 2003 boxes to Windows 2008.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Mike,
Agreed. Just in case if something goes wrong in Prod, SAG might not support.

    Good Luck…
