  • 1.  Why does v19 to V20 Upgrade fail with CODIN0648e?

    Posted Mon August 24, 2020 02:18 AM

In a Windows 2012 R2 all in one system the v19 to V20 upgrade fails with CODIN0648e. There is no process blocking the folder and when the move is executed from the command prompt it fails with the file names being too long. The names are less tan 256 characters and the same upgrade appears to work on Server 2016.

    What did I do incorrectly?

    Hello,

Please open a case against ILMT Support and attach the upgrade logs to that case.

    Thanks.

    Thanks,

I have of course read these logs and I can see the upgrade process and backup is different in v20 and most things run fine until we access the Program Files folders. Just in case there is some strange new GP effecting this folder that throws incorrect error messages, let me take the issue up with MS support first and get back to you.

We'll need to have a look at those logs as well.

As you cannot upload the files here, you'll need to create a case against ILMT Support.

    Thanks.
