If there is anyone knowledgeable about how IBM licenses the VE product, I'd greatly appreciate your input...
I have a topology that consists of three physical pieces of hardware that run WebSphere ND, and runs 4 clusters. The configuration of each physical server is identical to the other two, thus providing us with an HA environment. We do not leverage HW virtualization on this platform.
Due to business requirements, I configured all 4 clusters to use separate node agents on each physical server that the cluster spans.
For Server A there are 4 ND Node Agents
For Server B there are 4 ND Node Agents
For Server C there are 4 ND Node Agents
My question is, how is VE licensed in this scenario?
Is it simply licensed by PVU count for the Hardware alone?
Is VE licensed by PVU count of the hardware * the number of Node Agents which will be managed by VE?
I've been getting conflicting information, and there seems to be a bit of debate over the licensing terms.
If anyone has firsthand experience pertaining to how VE would be licensed in the above scenario, it would help me immensely.
