    While FTP and SFTP may seem very similar, they are not. SFTP is in fact file transfer over an encrypted SSH connection. FTP transfers files in plain text, making them vulnerable to interception and eavesdropping. SFTP offers a higher level of security by utilising the underlying encryption of an SSH connection, ensuring data privacy and integrity.
