Via the AIX Wiki, I get the following formula for calulating minfree:
minfree = (maximum of either 960 or # of logical CPUs * 120) divided by # of memory pools
So if I have 6 processors and 2 memory pools ( which I do ) then minfree should be set to 480?
AIX doc states:
The values for the minfree and maxfree parameters in the vmo command output is the sum of the minfree and maxfree parameters for each memory pool.
This seems contradictory to the above formula. Which seems to be setting the minfree value to be used by EACH memory pool rather than the sum.
Is everyone confused now? I certainly am.
