Dear Thomas
The job log of the QOBJCSVR server in the target machine shows that the initiation of the OBJC link worked fine. The problem happened after the link
initiation.
I'm not sure what you meant by "database entries"? Is it in WRKRDBDIRE command? If so, you have a misunderstanding as I'm sure RDBDIRE has nothing to do with ObjectConnect over native IP . If not, please help elaborate more on this.
I always specify IP address in SAVRSTXXX commands and see no need to use IBM i Host Table in any way.
Anyway, I see a response from IBM WW Support that an APAR was opened for my problem now, after a long wait.

The error message indicates a connection problem between the source LPAR and the destination LPAR.
First, I would look at the database entries on both LPARs. There should be entries pointing to the corresponding databases. Then you should use CFGTCP option 10 to see if there are any corrosponding entries. Sometimes also a problem: User and password.
If this does not solve the problem, you should post the JOBLOG of the job executing the SAVRSTOBJ.

Does anyone of you on IBM i 7.4 with almost the latest PTF group levels encounter this failure with the following error in the job log after running SAVRSTOBJ command from an interactive 5250 session?

I have 3 more LPARs that work fine with ObjC over native IP in IBM i 7.4 with all PTF groups a level or two below the 2 machines above. IBM support web site does not contain any relevant information on this error at all and I have waited a full month after opening a support request which asked me to gather many trace data and job logs but without any response so far.
Thaanks for any response.
