Hi - just a general question: I have noticed that quite a few responses refer to "v12 of TM1" and "NextGen server". I wanted to find out a bit more about these, but when I Google them or search the Community I don't seem to find a whole lot. Is there any reliable information in relation to v12 and NextGen? Are they related? Answers on a postcard! :)

    Thanks - Mark

The current version of TM1 is 11.8.8. That is packed into Planning Analytics Local release 2.0.9.9. So v12 of TM1 is just the next major release. Since it is an unreleased version you will not find many official information on that. Things can and will change most likely. The release of that version is expected sometime next year.
It is referred to as next gen because it supposedly will see some major changes. There is a high probability it will see things like failover and high-availability, etc. But that comes with certain costs which could include the removal of the c-api and therefore perspectives and tm1web and the move to linux with all changes required for that.

But all that is just rumours and I do not think IBM will officially confirm any of that. So my advice would be to go to any conference by an IBM partner or any official event from IBM for Planning Analytics. There you will learn more about those rumors.

And that is all more or less only relevant if you are an on premise customer.

Dear IBM, I hope I did not say to much or something wrong. ;-)

Thanks very much Christoph for explaining that. Sounds like interesting times ahead (if you can believe the rumours :) ).

    Best Regards,
