Subject: Using macro for source overrides in Cognos Analytics and trying to use dashboard properly
Hi @Patrick Neveu, My experience is from 11.1.7 but could still be valid.
I can confirm that the prompt macro value in a dashboard needs to be changed for each viasualization separately. I used it to switch measures in dashboards so it didn't matter that much.
But I also had to use multiple databases with the same table structure to share one dashboard with many customers. I controlled this by assigning only one database conenction to each customer. The prompt won't show up then and each customer could use the same (public) dashboard only with his database connection. The country seems to be unique per user, so this could also help you.

Subject: Using macro for source overrides in Cognos Analytics and trying to use dashboard properly
Hi,
I'm using source override feature in a data module. When I run a report, I'm prompted to select the correct datasource between 2 countries and it is working as expected.
I'm having issues with dashboard.
First, in the data module, I'm using the following:

The macro is:
#prompt('Datasource';'token';'';'';'CountryAccess.Datasource')#
When I create then open a dashboard, I've the following dialog box (as expected):

In my dashboard, I will see the following on my 2 visualizations:

Both visualizations are using the same widget connection
Value 1 for each visualization.
In both visualizations, I have the following filter (it could be DWH_FRA or DWH_ITA):

When I edit the filter to change in one visualization the value to DWH_ITA

However, the value is NOT changed in the second visualization.
I've customer in both visualizations. If I select a customer in visualization #1, it will also be filtered on the same customer in visualization #2.
Any idea would be appreciated.
