I recently purchase 6 new Kingston DTI/4GB flash drives.
I was surprised to find that these drives will allow me to
write and retrieve information from the flash drives while
the older DTI/4GB will not.
Called Kingston technical support and they said that
I had two different series of the same drive. They did
not tell me what was causing the problem; but they did
say that they did not warrant that these flash drive to
work on the IBM pSeries systems. However; they are going
to replace my 3 older flash drives with ones that should
work on my system. (The DTI/?GB series of flash drives
have been discountinued. I believe the replacement
series is called DTIG3/?GB. Have no idea if these will
work on the pSeries system.
Still having problems with the DTI/8GB flash drive.
AIX will cfgmgr the drive; but I can not write to
it. Get an I/O error.
Tried to reach the IBM support person working on my
PMR to tell him what has happened; but so far no response.
Bye,
Dwight
