customer wants to upgrade aix first to 6.1.2.4 on the inactive node then ha( 5.1.4.7) on the inactive node then start cluster services and fail over to it. then do the other side days later. Are there any gotchas with this? we are at 5.4.0.1 on aix 5.3.8 right now.

    see below:

    2. HACMP down on inactive node

    3. AIX OS upgrade to 6.1.2.4 with prework and mksysb

    4. Apply IZ65417 APAR with checks in the boxes to include requisites, include fixes regression and replace superseded fixes. In this call it will get HACMP to 5.4.1.7 with the base 5.4.1.0

    5. Bring HACMP on the inactive node UP.

    6. Fallover from active node to inactive node.

    7. Leave the (now) inactive node available for about a week while running on the newly updated active node.

    8. Bring down HACMP on the inactive node.

    9. Perform AIX OS upgrade the same as in step 3 above.

    10. Apply HACMP patch per above step 4.

    11. Bring HACMP up on inactive node. Confirm both nodes running.

    12. At next outage have routine fallover to confirm successful completion.
