  • 1.  Upgrading RTC Shell Client

    Posted Wed February 22, 2017 11:39 AM

There is no guide for upgrading RTC Shell client on the Knowledge Center.
Can we use Installation Manager > Update to upgrade the Shell client? Or do we have to uninstall first, then install a new version?

    Kind regards,

You should be able to point the shell client directly to the upgrade server to pull and install the latest.

To the best of my knowledge, the only time you need to uninstall in Installation Manager is if you want to replace the Eclipse base that the product you're installing is on.  That is, if you installed an IDE that was based on Eclipse 3.6 and now prereqs Eclipse 4.2, you'll have to uninstall to remove the platform that the update prereqs.  In the case of the Shell client, since there is no Eclipse platform, you should be able to update without an issue
