So it isnt listing any filesets as being old.

How do i get the machine to recognise it is running 5.3 ML7.
When i try to update to SP1 it says:

Run this command and post the output:

instfix -ic | grep ":-:"

The TL 7 doesn't look applied correctly and this command will help indicate which filesets are down level.

I usually work on Solaris, and only have limited experience of MLs on AIX, so am slightly unsure where to go with this.

There is the problem. The "-" indicates the fileset is missing with the last field saying which TL/ML/SP requires that level. Because those csm filesets are at a lower level that is what is holding hte TL back. CSM can be removed if you don't use it....more information on it is here:

If you want to update the packages though the updates are here:

http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/sas/f/csm/download/home.html

Make sure you move to 1.7.0.0 at a minimum to resolve the problem.

These boxes are used for development, and as such are not set up in clusters. Is it easy to remove CSM?
